On the first-week templestay in November, there are 3 Korean families and 2 foreigners from South Africa. Because the information and etiquette in temple are quite important, the orientation time to learn basic temple etiquette was proceeded in two different languages in separated place.
Then, all together moved to 2nd floor, main Buddha hall of ISC, and had a explanation and Q&A time. After the Buddha hall things, there was cultural experience time; Dancheon, the Korean traditional coloring, usually for the wooden building.
Having delicious dinner, they also joined Buddhist ceremony, maybe for the first time in their life! Sunim taught them what is meditation and how it should be proceeded, then they had practice time. Even the kids followed well. After sleepy 4 AM wake-up, participants joined Morning Chant, the first ceremony to start a day with all beings.
Before we finished the templestay program, there were two more Highlights; 108 prostrations and Tea time!!
With a big smile like them, Have a nice day!!! Thank you for visiting us for the templestay :-)
