막 짜낸 소젖은 굳지 않듯이

악을 행한 즉시 과보는 없다 해도

재에 덮여 있어도 (불씨가) 살아 있는 목탄처럼

어리석은 이를 따라 다니며 불태우네.

An evil deed does not immediately bear fruit,

just as milk does not curdle at once;

but it follows the fool, burning him like live coal covered with ashes.

惡不卽時如搆牛乳罪在陰伺如灰覆火 .(71)

어떤 행위를 하고 난 뒤에 후회하고

얼굴 가득 눈물을 흘리며 그 열매를 거두어들일 때,

바로 그 행위는 잘못된 것이(라 할지)니.

That deed is not well done when, after having done it,

one regrets, and when weeping with tearful face,

one reaps the fruit thereof.

行爲不善退見悔悋致涕流面報由宿習 .(67)

Bitter is the fruit of evil/악행의 열매는 참으로 쓰다

지혜가 없어 어리석은 사람은

스스로를 쓰디쓴 열매를 간직한 자신의 적(敵)으로 삼고

악행을 저지르며 옮겨 다니네.

With themselves as their own enemies,

fools lacking in intelligence move about doing evil deeds,

which bear bitter fruits.

愚人施行爲身招患快心作惡自致重殃 .(66)
