Noble is he who is not credulous/경솔하지 않은 사람은 존귀하다

The man who is not credulous,

who understands the Uncreate (Nirbana),

who has cut off the links,

who has put an end to occasion (of good and evil),

who has eschewed all desires, he indeed, is a supreme man.

棄欲無着缺二界障望意已絶是謂上人.

경솔하지 않고 열반을 이해하며

속박을 끊고 (선과 악의) 근원을 없애버리며

온갖 욕망을 삼간 사람,

그는 진실로 초인이니라. (97)

The calm are the peaceful/평화로운 사람은 고요하다

Calm is his mind, calm is his speech, calm is his action,

who rightly knowing, is wholly freed, perfectly peaceful,

and is unshaken by the ups and downs of life.

心已休息言行亦止從正解脫寂然歸滅.

마음이 고요하고 말이 고요하며

행동이 고요하여 바르게 아는 사람은

완전히 해탈하여 완벽하게 평화로우니

오르내림에 전혀 흔들리지 않네. (96)

He who senses are subdued,

like steeds well-trained by a charioteer,

he whose pride is destroyed and is free from the corruptions,

-such a steadfast one even the gods hold dear.

制根從正如馬調御捨熳習敬

마부가 잘 훈련시킨 군마(軍馬)처럼

감정을 다스리고, 자존심을 부수어 버려

(자기 안의) 썩은 것들에서 자유로운 사람,

그와 같이 신념이 굳은 사람은

천신들까지도 공경하네. (94)
